Penn State's Doctoral Programs Gain Top Outcomes in National Rankings

Penn State was one of the largest institutional participants from among 212 universities in the National Research Council Assessment of Research Doctorate Programs, with 69 Ph.D. programs participating (65 ranked) in 51 different primary and 3 emerging fields of study. [more]

Graduate School Commencement Ceremony, Sun., May 6

This spring, Penn State expects to award approximately 12,987 diplomas to students University-wide who are completing 609 associate, 10,491 baccalaureate, 1,311 master's, 131 medical, 219 law and 226 doctoral degrees. At University Park, approximately 979 master's degree students are expected to graduate, along with the doctoral degree candidates. All figures listed are estimates as of April 9.*

The Graduate School commencement ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 6, at 4:30 p.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center. Instructions for graduate degree candidates are available online. The speaker will be Peter E. Schiffer, associate vice president and director of Strategic Initiatives, Office of the Vice President for Research; professor of Physics, Penn State.
